FOCUSING The eyepieces can be focused by placing the focusing rod in the hole where the lamp and microscope arms rotate. With the focusing rod in place, adjust the beam width to give a narrow parallelepiped. The beam should be in center of your field of view. If it is not check the lever on the side of the light tower which changes the lateral angle of the light source to see that it is in the click position. Looking through the eyepieces (one at a time) rotate the eyepiece counter-clockwise until the beam is blurred then clockwise until it just comes into focus. Remove the focusing rod and you are ready to examine the patient.
